Delicious Disney Lunch – Food Blog Forum

Today I was lucky enough to experience one of the most amazing culinary adventures in my lifetime.

You know the episodes of Top Chef where chefs create hundreds of tiny plates for food critics, so lucky visitors basically roam table-to-table eating all the amazing food.  Well, today that was real life.

As part of the Food Blog Forum, we were able to experience plates from all of the best Disney World restaurants, all from the beauty that is the California Grill.  Take a look at the menu:

My favorites:

  • The Scallop & Shrimp with the puff pastry
  • The braised Pork Belly – I even went back for seconds.

I was most surprised by the beats – I actually enjoyed them!

And let’s just talk about the chocolate pudding cake.  It was simply, OUT OF THIS WORLD.  The best part, the sea salt on top.  It added the perfect sweet, salty combination.  I’m so very honored to be a part of this amazing group!

New Disney-themed Starbucks mugs now available!

It’s been a busy weekend for obsessed Disney-fans, buying up brand new Starbucks/Disney-themed “You Are Here” mugs.  Us included!

So far, only two mugs in the collection have been related for Walt Disney World.

To get the Magic Kingdom mug, you have to go to the Main Street Bakery.  The mug features Cinderella Castle, Space Mountain and more.

For the Epcot mug, you will need to hit the Starbucks in that park to pick up the mug featuring Spaceship Earth, the monorail and more.

Each mug is $14.95 each.

Mugs will soon be released for Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom when Starbucks locations are opened in those theme parks.

Disney World Gingerbread Houses – 2014

Walt Disney World Resort guests can enjoy an all-new Gingerbread Holiday Ice Castle inspired by Disney’s “Frozen” this year on the 4th floor of Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
The 17-foot-tall culinary concoction is adorned with favorite characters from the film including Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Kristoff and Sven, 1,500 gingerbread shingles, snowflakes and chocolate-covered trees.
“Frozen”-themed merchandise, desserts and gingerbread treats also are available for purchase at the ice castle kiosk.
At Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, guests will be greeted by a new life-size gingerbread display inspired by the Jersey Shore. The “gingerbread stand” is reminiscent of a New Jersey boardwalk concession complete with ice cream cones, cookies, stollen bread and gingerbread house kits. Sweet wreaths and Mickey- and Minnie-shaped gingerbreads decorate the stand that’s made of 674 gingerbread shingles.
Over at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa the scent of gingerbread fills the lobby where this Victorian gingerbread house is on display for the holidays. Grand Floridian pastry chefs create the 16-foot-high dream house with 1, 050 pounds of honey, 600 pounds of powdered sugar, 800 pounds of flour, 140 pints of egg whites and 180 pounds of apricot glaze.

Christmas in the Kitchen

I’m not a big fan of cooking, but I do love baking.

And while I’m baking, I enjoy looking cute.

This new apron may be my new favorite Disney item for Christmas!

The Disney Store says the apron is sold out.  But they are available within the Disney parks!

A Very Frozen Christmas

The blockbuster sensation “Frozen” is taking over the world.

If you haven’t heard, all things at Disney parks are being taken into the world of Frozen.

Even the annual Christmas parade.

This year’s parade, which airs on TV on Christmas Day on ABC, has been renamed the “Disney Parks Frozen Christmas Celebration.

Even the ever-adorable Disney Christmas food has been turned.

It’s Sven!
