Grapefruit Beer at Walt Disney World’s Epcot

We need to talk about the Grapefruit beer from the Brewer’s Collection at Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival.  In fact, we’re a little obsessed.

Sampling the beer the first time around was amazing.  So we had to try it again to ensure it’s as good as we remember from a few weeks back.  And the answer is…HELL YES!

To refresh your memory…the beer is SchöfferhoferGrapefruit.  It’s light, fruity and simply delicious.

Since our initial visit, we felt it our duty to scour the internet to find the beer.  FAIL.

We went to Total Wine, the mecca of alcohol in the Orlando area…FAIL.  They seemed jealous of Disney’s connection and said they are very busy during Food & Wine Festival trying to track down all of these drinks that people coming in asking about from Disney.  They had never heard of this beer and sounded intrigued.

We’re NOT giving up the fight!!  So we’ll keep you posted if we can locate a place nearby.  But here are some more details we found about the beer.  (Also note, the company’s website is all in German, so not much use to us!)

The first authentic “radler” we have stocked – a blend of lemonade and cloudy wheat beer infused with real grapefruit juice. Historically brewed to refresh German cyclists without compromising the return journey, the Radler is tart and refreshing, with a low alcoholic strength, 2.5% ABV, which makes it a great beach or barbeque beer.

  1. […] the drink is just OK.  It didn’t make us obsess for more like the Grapefruit Beer from the Brewer’s Collection.  It is a nice drink to have on a hot day – it did seem to stay frozen for a good 20 minutes […]

I sampled the Brewers Collection Flight 1. The Grapefruit beer was at the top of my list. Very refreshing.

We have a local chain of stores in the Toledo Area that are called “The Andersons” and they have all kinds of wines and beers, and WE FOUND IT! So excited to get it chilled and have some!

We tried it and then decided to get a couple of 22 oz glasses. The taste was as good at the end as at the beginning. I prefer ales and beers with a lot of flavor, but this surprised me and I enjoyed it. It was better than water in that heat. I’ll be hunting for it in the future.

You can purchase at Toatal Wine… If they do not have just ask them to order some. I get two cases at a time but our store is fully stocked with it. I live in Lake Worth Florida.
